Car TV Mate Pro- HDMI™ Multimedia & Wireless CarPlay Adapter

For the price, this is an amazing value. My car already has wireless CarPlay, so we got this in order to stream onto my car’s infotainment screen. As other reviews have mentioned, you need a separate streaming device to plug in to the OttoCast unit. We used a Roku streaming stick. Connecting and getting started was easy once I disconnected my phone’s wireless CarPlay (just disabled the Bluetooth). We used my car’s built in WiFi and it worked, but had a few buffering issues. The picture also didn’t use the entire infotainment screen, but still had a nice picture. Definitely amazing for a long car drive!!

Travel can be boring for my family. For some reason my dad jokes aren’t enough so I had to look elsewhere for cheap entertainment. Found it in the Ottocast Car TV Mate Pro.

There are some great benefits for using this product and a few points to ponder. First, this device serves as a CarPlay substitute. My 2019 Buick hasn’t updated its infotainment system to accommodate my iPhone 15, so now that works in my car, huge plus. Second, you definitely can watch your favorite programming on your car screen as long as you have a source other than your phone.

Points to think about. You will need a streaming source. You will also need a power source to power the streaming device. Finally, you will need an internet connection. In my circumstance I use my phone hotspot, but that *may* not provide enough bandwidth after longer viewing times. I had hoped that I could run the streaming from my phone directly to the ottocast since it was already connected, but unfortunately the signal has to run through the hdmi port.

All things considered, the ottocast is an excellent value because of the entertainment value. It’s easy to connect to your car and you can watch anything that streams from your streaming device.

This worked really well in my 2021 make vehicle with CarPlay in it. It connected easily and was so nice to just throw my phone into the car and it connecting without any issues to the CarPlay. It has good quality coming out of it and give me all of the same features as my regular CarPlay gives. So excited to have this throughout the school year and it’s hard to find and/or remember to plug in my phone.

As a Car device it works as good as it will get. Idk if it’s the device or my phone but I’ve had wireless CarPlay/TV radios and devices in my cars before and this seems to take an extra few moments to connect and display on screen. No big deal though but for someone who wants absolutely instant this isn’t so much as that. The device itself seems well made and good quality.
